AIR TRANSPORT GREEN BUSINESS PRACTICES STUDI KASUS : GARUDA INDONESIA AIRWAYS

Abstract
The airlines transport 2 billion people annually and 40% export of valuable commodities. Air freight companies provide 29 million jobs globally. In addition to the positive impact airline companies generate 2% CO2 emissions globally, in view of GDP the company provide 8% of world economic activity. The concept of greening an airline company could relate to reducing atmospheric emission levels, in order to achieve carbon neutrality. Lately there is a high level of safety demands, and also the demand for environmental quality. Technology enhancement as well as strict provisions to reduce their negative impacts on the environment. This research aims at studying Garuda Indonesia as a national airlines company in Indonesia on how they comply with international convention regarding sustainable green air transportation, and what action has been taken to maximize their benefit to the community, economic development and environmental issues, nationally and globally. The research employed three methods of data collection; interview, questionnaire and secondary data collected from their publications. The research found that Garuda Indonesia has sufficiently comply with both international and national convention and regulation on green air transportation.
