Abstract

The changing competition conditions require every hotel to increase its response to the environment, the application of room reservation and yield management offer a concept so that each hotel is able to position itself in the best position in the changing conditions. Through this qualitative research, it was revealed that there were a number of obstacles in increasing room sales through room bookings and yield management at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bali. The data collection techniques in this research were interview, observation and documentation techniques. The research was conducted at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bali for six months. The results of the analysis of the research are to mantain in the best position in terms of room occupancy, and therefore a strategy to increase room sales is needed through the application of room reservation and yield management in the front office department of the hotel and also to overcome or anticipate the competitive climate so that organizational goals can be achieved. Therefore, it is really necessary to have a room reservation and yield management applications at the Grand Hyatt Bali Hotel.
